This was the only trip we took together. I jokingly called it our honeymoon. I even told a couple who took our picture that we were on our honeymoon. He broke up with me a month later.

He had put too much hot sauce on his cheese steak and was actually suffering quite a bit.

Mrs. Davis (Tim’s mother), artist and co-owner of the gallery, was having a celebration to show off the artists’ work. Or Georgetown was having a weekend celebration. I don’t remember. Tim provided the entertainment for that Saturday, singing folk songs and playing his guitar.

Mike was one of the first people to be excited about this project. He sent in a photo probably a year ago but hadn’t written anything about it until now.

One could wonder how a hill in Joshua Tree could be considered a monument–but some people find monuments in structures, and some people find monuments in nature. And it’s cool.

Chris and I camped at Joshua Tree for Coachella one year. I think it’s interesting how small he looks by those hills; he’s taller than me, but in the photo he appears to be a sullen 12 year-old walking away from the camera. I guess that’s sort of how our relationship wrapped up, too. I hope he’s doing well.

This is actually my ex-husband but please consider it because the sentiment is parallel.

I was on tour as a studio teacher for child actors. It was a life-changing experience and I was so pleased that he came out to meet me in DC, which was where we had our honeymoon, and pleased that he got along so well with the kids and with the friends that I had made. We had taken a field trip with the four girls to see the sights and the child wrangler took us all to this park, which was one of her favorites when she lived there.

Adam and I were heading back from Palm Desert. I had just learned to golf. My love for Pee Wee’s Big Adventure caused for us to stop.

When I got fired, we jumped in the car and did a road trip. He was obsessed by how bad the art was in the southwest. I was obsessed with hot springs and those puffy corn fritters with honey. We spent an afternoon at the Grand Canyon furtively trying to take pictures that made it look like his ass was part of the canyon. (I’m sparing you those shots, dear reader.)
